Each year, the Best Running Stores awards program recognizes and celebrates leading run specialty retailers across the US. With proven and passionate commitment to community, customers, and the industry, these retailers exemplify what makes run specialty so special.

In 2023, The Running Event team received 12,500 nominations representing 500 unique US stores, showcasing the endless amount of talent and passion within run specialty. The 2023 Best Running Stores went above and beyond in all areas of the program’s months-long evaluation process. We can’t wait to celebrate this year’s winners at the Industry Awards Dinner, taking place November 30 during The Running Event in Austin, TX.

Overview

Nominated stores undergo a rigorous evaluation process. When nominations close and evaluation forms are reviewed, the top 100 stores will be selected and then secret shopped. Through a combination of these scores, the 2023 Best Running Stores and Store of the Year will be determined. For more information about the evaluation process or criteria, please contact us.
Winning stores will be announced at the end of July.
The Store of the Year will revealed live at a special celebration during The Running Event 2023.

Timeline

Nominations Deadline: Thursday, March 30, 2023 (Closed)
Winners notified: Thursday, July 27, 2023
Reception: After honoring all 2023 winners, Store of the Year will be announced during a special reception Thursday, November 30 at The Running Event.

Eligibility

Any run specialty retail store in the US is eligible.
All industry professionals, brands, retail customers, and store employees are welcome to submit nominations.
