Fifteen years ago Blaine and Robin Lewis opened the doors to Fleet Feet Roanoke in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. A former Adult Probation & Parole Supervisor and Bank Manager, respectively, they were looking for a positive change in their careers and relocated to Robin’s hometown to open a running store. 15 years later, it’s more than a running store. What started as a two-man show turned into a business with 14 full-time employees, hundreds of individuals turned family through training programs, a growing running/walking community, and a movement. Blaine and Robin founded Project Forward, a 501(c)3 non-profit with a sole mission to give back to their community. Their passion to support the local community and make it a healthier place has helped drive their business for 15 years, and there’s no slowing down.
