Speaker

Luis Negron

Luis Negron is a Maintenance Supervisor at Pennrose and an alumni member of Back on My Feet whose journey is a powerful example of what can happen when someone decides to keep showing up. After losing everything and experiencing homelessness, Luis made a commitment to one simple thing showing up at 5:30am to run. That decision became the turning point in his life.

Through Back on My Feet, Luis built the discipline, accountability and consistency that allowed him to rebuild from the ground up. What started as a run became a routine, then a mindset and ultimately a pathway to stability and employment. Today, he brings that same reliability and leadership to his role at Pennrose, where he oversees maintenance operations and takes pride in creating safe, well cared for communities.

Luis is also a nine time New York City Marathon finisher, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects years of commitment and perseverance. Each finish line represents far more than endurance. It is proof of how far he has come and what is possible when you refuse to quit.

As an alumni member of Back on My Feet, Luis continues to give back by supporting others who are just starting their journey. His story is real, it is earned and it is a reminder that no matter where you start, if you keep showing up, your life can change.
