Cal Calamia (they/he) is a trans athlete, activist, educator, community builder, and poet. They competed at Saint Louis University, then went on to advocate for non-binary divisions in races across the globe. Cal won first place in the 2023 New York City Marathon, the 2022 San Francisco Marathon, the 2024 Los Angeles Marathon and the 2025 Tokyo Marathon. He took second place at the 2022 Chicago Marathon, the 2023 Boston Marathon and the 2024 Berlin Marathon. Cal is the founder of non-binary+ run club, a professor at the University of San Francisco, the author of a collection of poetry, San Franshitshow, and the star of Out of The Dark: Cal Calamia. They are committed to increasing trans visibility and uplifting queer joy, and became the first Transgender Trailblazer award recipient in 2024.
