The Best Running Stores awards program honors run specialty stores for their dedication to their communities, staff, and customers.

This year’s program again reflects an evolved approach to identifying excellence in retail; one that aligns with the changing needs of the running industry and the communities it serves. 

Nominated stores will have to complete a thorough evaluation form that addresses topics like employee benefits, inclusivity, sustainability, community engagement, and innovative business practices. From there, the Top 100 stores will be selected, all of which are visited twice by secret shoppers. These visits will largely be focused on human interaction and the in-store experience.

Through a combination of these scores, the 2026 Best Running Stores will be selected and announced this summer!
