Red Rock Running Company’s definition of diversity encompasses race, ethnicity, body type, body shape, and age.
In this session we will show you how our diverse staff mirrors our community and the customers that come into our door. No matter what you look like, from age to body type to ethnicity, we most likely have somebody in our store that looks like you. By building a diverse staff we have built a diverse client base. We focus on the fact that the people who come into our stores are looking to be better versions of themselves. These are customers in OUR community. They are going to spend their money somewhere, so why not have them spend it with us?
Red Rock Running Company does not rely solely on the running community to sustain us. Anybody who needs a comfortable pair of shoes or is interested in starting their fitness journey can come to our store and fit in. We have one of the most welcoming environments in the run industry, and our diverse staff is where it begins.
We will discuss how important it is to recognize the barrier to entry that non-traditional runners face and how to reach out & invite your diverse community into your store. We will talk about including different types of diversity into your staff, how to recruit and hire the best person for the job, and how by doing so will lead to a rich and diverse staff.
