Byron Gartrell serves as the Head of Marketing for Run/Train at PUMA North America, where he has been instrumental in driving the category’s marketing efforts for the region. Byron’s passion for running began in middle school in Rochester, NY, and his dedication carried him through years of competitive racing, including competing at the collegiate level.
His professional journey in the running industry started in 2002 at Runner’s Edge in Melrose, Massachusetts. Byron’s expertise deepened at Marathon Sports, where he took on the roles of Scholastic Events Coordinator and Brand Representative, fostering meaningful connections across the running community. Over the past decade, Byron has led Tech Rep teams for brands like New Balance, and most recently was instrumental in creating the innovative Run Cat program at PUMA which launched in 2021.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Byron is an avid supporter of charitable running. He has participated in five marathons to raise funds for animal welfare organizations, blending his love for the sport with a commitment to making a positive impact.
