Dr. White is an educator, researcher, and writer who focuses on sport, culture, history, and society. Dr. White is currently an Assistant Professor of Sport Studies at Manhattanville University. She was recently named a Trailblazer in Higher Education by City and State New York. She also received the 2023 North American Society for Sport History Diversity Recognition Award. She has contributed articles to Women’s Running Magazine and The Journal of Sport History. Her chapter about visual representations of girls and sports can also be found in the anthology Sports Through the Lens: Essays on 25 Iconic Sports Photographs. Finally, her book The Athletic Lives of Black Girls: Sport, Religion, and Community in the Jim Crow North is currently under contract with the University of Illinois Press.
