Sergio Avila is a wildlife biologist and recovering conservationist, an immigrant, and a trail runner living in ancestral Tohono O’odham and Pascua Yaqui Lands since 2004. He works as Outdoors Program Coordinator with the Sierra Club, is a Board member with ReNew Earth Running and the Running Industry Diversity Coalition. Sergio is an advocate for inclusion, equity and justice, highlighting the intersection of social and environmental justice, and bringing to the forefront the voices and experiences of those who are not usually included or heard from.
