Elyse Braner
Director, People + Culture, Pacers Running
Elyse Braner is the Director of People + Culture at Pacers Running, where she oversees all aspects of Community Marketing, Recruiting, and Human Resources. Elyse has worked with Pacers since 2011, where she has also served as a Fit Specialist and the Community Manager, and has spent over a decade growing and creating community and building meaningful, authentic relationships for Pacers in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. Her expertise in building community has also been the catalyst behind Pacers’ successful employee recruitment. In her spare time, Elyse enjoys running and training for triathlon. She ran collegiately at Smith College, has run over 30 marathons and is currently training for Ironman Maryland.
Lindsey Mulder
Co-Owner, Playmakers Running
Lindsey has loved working at Playmakers for over 18 years and being involved in the running industry. Her background is in marketing, but loves being involved in all aspects of the business. Since discovering her love for running at 11, she’s maintained a streak of over 3000 consecutive days, finding balance as a busy mom of two.
Joy Hunt
Co-Owner & Finance Officer, Elite Feet
Joy is a life-long resident of Delaware and loves owning a business in her small but mighty home state. She earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Delaware and is a proud Blue Hen. For nearly twenty years, Joy has worked successfully as a pharmaceutical sales representative in the areas of diabetes, metabolism, and oncology where she has developed a strong passion for patient care, self-management, and advocacy. Her professional career fuels her commitment to healthy movement. Joy ran her first marathon last year and is a member of Black Girls Run! Delaware. Joy is also an active community member and helped charter the Middletown (DE) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization. At Elite Feet, Joy’s responsibilities include finance, human resources, marketing, and community relations.
Danny Smith

Award-winning journalist Danny Smith has been penning stories for Running Insight since 2012 and writing about the retail marketplace since 2004. A multi-time TRE presenter, Smith also spent nine years slinging shoes at a run specialty store.
