The Best Running Stores program is an annual recognition program celebrating run specialty retailers who go above and beyond for their customers, employees, and communities. Following the nomination period, stores complete an evaluation form that addresses customer experience, workplace culture, community engagement, inclusivity, sustainability, and innovative business practices. The Top 100 stores are then secret shopped, and the 2026 Best Running Stores and Store of the Year are selected based on the combination of evaluation and secret shopper scores. Winning stores are invited to celebrate their achievements at the Industry Awards Dinner on December 3 during The Running Event in San Antonio, TX.
