Nearly nine million people completed a road race in the United States last year. What shoes were they wearing on their feet? In a first-of-its-kind partnership, Running USA is teaming up with MarathonFoto to explore the shoe preferences of runners across the country. Using AI, we will explore the most popular brands overall and break down trends across distances from 5K to marathon, by gender and by age. We will also look at how brand popularity varies by region. This data will allow brands to understand their strengths and how they measure up against competitors and will also provide new numbers for run specialty retailers to use in their forecasting.
