Media Registration

Qualified media professionals are invited to attend TRE 2026.

The Running Event welcomes media staff and freelancers working on assignments from industry, news, and consumer-focused media outlets related to the running, outdoor, and active lifestyle industries.

The complimentary press badge provides access to TRE in full, including education sessions, the exhibit hall, and all TRE networking events and activities, like the Opening Party and Indie 5K.

Important for 2026: Due to the high volume of media applications we receive each year, not all applicants can be accepted, even those who have attended in the past. The TRE team is thoughtful and intentional in our review process, but space is limited. If your application is not approved, we encourage you to explore our Content Creator or Media Sales badge as an alternative way to participate.

How Does It Work?

Interested press can visit the 2026 Press Portal (coming soon!) to submit professional contact information as well as links to recent work and social media handles.
A member of The Running Event media team will review the application within 10 business days.
The application will be approved or rejected depending on the qualification materials submitted.
Applicants will receive an email notification of their application status once reviewed.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be a qualified representative focused on running, outdoor, and lifestyle topics from one of the following:
- Digital and Print Media: Trade, news, or consumer*
  - *We can only accept up to 3 representatives from each media outlet

Generally, press that qualify have the following titles:
- Owner/Publisher
- Editor
- Contributor/Reporter
- Journalists/Writer
- Podcaster
The following generally do not qualify. Learn more about TRE’s Media Sales and Content Creator badges at the bottom of this page.
- Sales/Marketing personnel* (sales managers, account executives, etc.)
- Advertising/PR agency personnel
- Photographers/ videographers not on assignment
- Meme accounts and/ or re-posters of other content

Please Note: Due to the high volume of media requests we receive, we’re unable to accommodate press passes for creators who are still establishing their digital presence at this time. We are happy to consider unique opportunities on a case-by-case basis following further discussion.

Additional Pass Types:

Content Creator: Available to influencers and creators who do not qualify for a press pass.
Media Sales: Available to sales and marketing/PR personnel (sales managers, account executives, etc.)
