Alysia Montano

Alysia Montaño is an Olympic bronze medalist, seven-time U.S. national champion, and one of the most influential voices advancing equity for mothers in sports. Known for her fearless front-running style and the signature flower she wore while racing, the UC Berkeley graduate made global headlines in 2014 when she competed at the U.S. Track and Field Championships while eight months pregnant, an iconic moment that challenged perceptions of pregnancy and performance in elite athletics.

After experiencing the motherhood penalty firsthand, including the loss of sponsorship support, Montaño publicly confronted the lack of maternity protections in professional sports through a groundbreaking 2019 New York Times opinion piece. A proud mother of three, Montaño founded For All Mothers+, where she continues to champion a future where women never have to choose between motherhood and pursuing their dreams.
