Palmetto Running Company Named Best Running Store of 2023 at The Running Event

Palmetto Running Company, located in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and Bluffton, South Carolina, was named Store of the Year at the annual reception recognizing run specialty retailers

AUSTIN, Texas (December 2, 2023) – Palmetto Running Company was named the Best Running Store of 2023 at The Running Event (TRE) in Austin, Texas. The Best Running Stores awards program honors leading run specialty retailers in the US and annually selects a Store of the Year.

“Each year, celebrating the Best Running Stores reminds us why we do what we do at The Running Event,” said Christina Henderson, Event Director, The Running Event. “While selecting the Store of the Year is no small feat, Palmetto Running Company reflects exactly what this program is all about. The entire Palmetto team should be incredibly proud.”

For the 2023 awards program, The Running Event Team received more than 12,500 individual nominations from stores’ employees, customers, and communities, with 500 unique storefronts nominated in total. After completing an in-depth evaluation process and undergoing a secret shop, the 2023 Best Running Stores were selected: a total of 62 stores from across the US.

On Thursday, November 30 at TRE 2023, the 62 winning stores were recognized at the Industry Awards Dinner. Capping off a night of celebration, the Top Four stores were recognized: Fleet Feet Louisville, Mill City Running, Palmetto Running Company, and Running Lab. The night ended with Palmetto Running Company being named 2023 Store of the Year. Christian Fyfe (Co-Owner), Robert Fyfe (Co-Owner), Keri Straughn (Co-Owner), Tammy Zito (General Manager), Joe Zito (Race Director), Mia Dortenzio (Assistant Buyer), and Ally Sailer (Marketing Manager) represented Palmetto Running Company at TRE 2023.
